Voz de Tango
The Argentine and Uruguayan tradition of the Tango is recognised as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and "one of the main manifestations of identity for the inhabitants of the Río de la Plata region" in order to contribute "a deeper understanding of the Tango as a regional expression resulting from the fusion of several cultures".
We live and dance in Europe where, perhaps sometimes, the culture of tango arrives somewhat diluted.
Voz de Tango is a dynamic cultural experiment aiming to build a cultural bridge between dancers and tango aficionados in Europe and Agentina and to allow everyone to get a "deeper understanding" of what Tango is all about by talking to some of the protagonists, people from Argentina, professional dancers from Salon to Escenario, teachers, musicians, DJ's and others and discussing about their own experiences, through a series of Live online interviews that take place at the evenings of milonga Pasional.
We believe that by understanding better what's going on in Argentina where the heart of tango is beating, by looking into tango as a cultural expression of "the fusion of several cultures" we may all be able to enhance our own personal experience of Tango.
Tango is about music, emotions and subtle communication, a complex phenomenon with cultural and social implications.

PROJECTION: Documentary on the beginnings of the development of tango as a dance, followed by Q&A session with Osvaldo Miranda (DJ Os).

Reading, translating and discussing the lyrics of 2 tangos: «El Encopao», «Rondando tu esquina». Participants also received a leaflet with the translation of these 2 tangos. Followed by milonga with DJ Chris.
